I had Cana-Spec inspect an early 1900’s home prior to my purchase. Robin was great. He was at the home early to have a look by himself, with no distractions. He was extremely friendly and had a great sense of humour. He gave honest and accurate feedback, explaining potential problems with older homes. At the end of the inspection, Robin stated that as long as I own the home, I can contact him with questions about it.
I would recommend Cana-Spec to anyone in the market for a home inspector because of their professional and friendly approach to the inspection.

After looking over the house with you, I have more confidence that this is a good house to buy. The supplements you provided were extremely helpful to me. They gave me information on systems installed in the house that I have not used before. ie: electric furnace, heating with wood (stove) and Heat Recovery Ventilators. Of all the fees that a homeowner is charged in the buying process, your fee is an affordable one that gives the most real useful value.

Robin's thorough inspection of the place, which was tough as there was alot of snow on the ground. He was very easy to talk to and made the inspection fun, which I didn't think anyone could do with a house inspection. My husband and I are new to buying in a rural area and didn't know what to look for in regards to septic tanks, sump pumps and oil or gas heating. When Robin found this out he took the extra time to go over all aspects of each area and informed us of what to do to make sure you were always within safety specs.
